A new life has joined our family, and today we are here to celebrate baby Ruby’s birth and to officially bless, name and welcome her to our family. This gathering is a celebration of love, and of life! Ruby is new and perfect, she is a gift. Her smile, her laughter, and her presence enrich the lives of all who know her. Only 3 months old, and already she has made the world a better place. We are here to acknowledge that children are the greatest gift and most blessed responsibility bestowed upon a family.
Meaning of the name RUBY
Ruby is a predominantly feminine given name taken from the name of the gemstone ruby.
The ruby is known as a protective stone that can bring happiness and passion into the life of the wearer. The ruby is also believed to protect the wearer from negative entities that leach positive energy, promoting spiritual vitality and wellness overall.
Sean and I invited our family over to witness her blessing. Because of COVID-19 we kept the party to a group of 20, as mandated by the governor of Utah. I was saddened to not be able to extend the invitation out to all of our family and friends, but am grateful for the opportunity to have a small gathering.
Ruby’s Blessing day was a very special occasion, it marked the first family gathering since the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
Being able to see our nearest and dearest family members meant so much to us!
For the food I decided to create a PARFAIT BAR!
A yogurt bar is clutch for brunch or any party setting because it allows your guests to customize their parfait and they get to keep mingling while they do it.
I made labels so the guests knew which toppings were which.
Non Dairy yogurt: Vanilla flavor from KITE HILL
Fresh fruit: Strawberries, blueberries, & sliced bananas
Nuts: Almond slivers
Granola: Bear Naked Granola Fit Vnilla Almond
Sweets: mini dark chocolate chips & shredded coconut
I also served my famous VEGAN BANANA BREAD.
My mother also made Vegan Lemon Poppy Seed and Strawberry Chocolate muffins.
Ruby is wearing my baby blessing dress and shoes from 1989. I am so grateful my mother kept it for me to hand down to my daughter.
Sean’s mother Michele was gracious enough to host the Blessing in her backyard.
Sean’s father Mark gave Ruby her name and blessing.
Here we are Facetiming with our family members from Texas, so they may join us in the celebration.
A champagne pop and cheers to celebrate our little gem Ruby.
