This holiday began in honor of the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but today “Cinco” is all about celebrating Mexican culture. Invitations, bright bold colors, and festive decor are a few things you'll need to throw a Fiesta Party for Cinco de Mayo..
The big day is May 5th of course, and it is a great opportunity to host a party welcoming in the nicer weather. I was originally inspired to create this party by discovering Basic Invite fiesta invitations for Cinco de Mayo. My favorite part is the adorable floral border around the invitation with appropriate Mexican themed colors.

This table runner was made using textured fabric found at my local fabric store. I cut it into strips for random placement throughout the party and used a sticky no-sew tape to fold the corners. This floral fabric really helped to define our place settings.
When doing your own table, don’t forget texture! Layering different patterns and finishes makes the table feel full, festive and interesting. It’s simple, but makes a huge impact once everything comes together. We added cactus paper cans & tissue paper flowers to compliment the Cinco De Mayo decor.
