A grocery trip can feel like a major expedition with a toddler in tow (trust me, I have a wild 2.5 year old boy)!
I use to dread taking my toddler shopping, but now every time I take Graham to Harmons Grocery store, its more like a fun adventure to learn about all the new produce! I enjoy shopping at Harmons because it doesn’t make my weekly grocery trips feel like a chore. I like how Harmons created a place that I want to come to every week. (Right up there with my weekly Target trip)!
Harmons Grocery Stores are local to Utah, they started in 1932 with a fruit stand in West Valley City, to what is now known as a statewide chain with an emphasis on fresh foods.
They have taught their employees to create hand-crafted foods and work closely with local Utah growers and food producers so that all the other shoppers and I have a shorter crop to grocery store window.
Harmons definitely offers the best experience with the BEST products. In the past, a private-label product was considered our “generic”option. I personally strayed away from the generic brands due to taste and quality. BUT with Harmons their private-label products are high quality, if not higher in my opinion, as the other brands carried by their store.
I love to take advantage of teaching opportunities with Graham. A trip to the grocery store is a terrific time to practice skills. If you allow for a little extra time at the store, you can practice identifying all the beautiful colors (there’s a rainbow of vegetables & fruit) in the produce aisle.
Graham bit the top of this artichoke and was a taken back by the raw taste, it made for a good laugh and a fun learning experience…
I love that they sell ready-cut & ready-made items MADE FROM SCRATCH for convenience and to keep our families healthy on-the-go.
All of their employees take pride in their work, and you can see it when they explain their job to you, they are passionate about fresh quality food!
Harmons can keep their prices competitive because they are smart about stocking. You will never find a huge pile of produce that is under ripe, while the other half is going bad. They only stock what they need for that day.
My absolute FAVORITE item to buy at Harmons is their Chef Prepared Produce items! Especially the Salsas, Guacamole, & Hummus. It makes healthy eating easier than ever.
Now, like I stated earlier this isn't generic bottled salsa! They make the real deal fresh in store everyday. Its thick and chunky, and oh so delicious! You can choose between:
Mild Jalapeño
Spicy Serrano
Hot Habanero (I personally like the Habanero flavor because I love anything spicy!)
They also offer fresh Pineapple Salsa for those that like a more sweet tropical taste. As you can see below that’s what flavor Graham was grabbing for. Yummy!
We purchased their pre-cut veggie platter full of carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower, sugar snap peas and celery, along with hummus, pretzels and pita bread for a tasty and healthy lunch.
I had to snag this adorable yellow daisy bouquet from their floral department on my way out! It just screamed sunshine & happiness!
Graham and I were so happy to eat outside in the sunshine!
Spring in Utah is a bit bi-polar, one day its Sunny and 65 degrees while the next day its cold and snowing! Luckily for us it was a warm Spring afternoon to enjoy our favorite made fresh in store products from Harmons.
Harmons Guacamole is made with the ripest avocados, onions, and spices from local Salt Lake farms. For the greatest flavor experience, serve it with Harmons corn tortilla chips.
Their hummus is creamy and the texture is smooth. Sometimes hummus can be bland but believe me, Harmons makes incredibly flavorful hummus. Their chefs sell three flavors FRESH IN STORE daily:
Traditional Hummus
Roasted Red Pepper
Chile Lime (my personal favorite)
Harmons is serious about offering the freshest products and using local Utah ingredients. I encourage you to taste their Made Fresh In Store products and see the difference they make compared to other grocery store chains. Your mind and tastebuds will be blown away!
